I am a self-taught, life-long woodworker and artist who creates organic, abstract sculpture from select hardwoods. Currenlty based in Erie, Colorado, I have been designing and building things for as long as I can remember. For most of my life I have been creating furniture, but as my work started to take on more sculptural elements, mainly inspired by the craftsman Sam Maloof, I made the move to completely abandon the utility aspect and concentrate on the artform. I still build a piece of furniture here and there, but those are mostly for family and friends.

While mainly learning through doing, I did study furniture building at the Penland School of Crafts in 1992, a great place to experience if you ever get the chance. I also learned a lot from watching my father, a very handy and now-retired actuary who did all the maintenance and work on our house when I was growing up. Thankfully, he always had scrap wood in the basement for me and my brother to mess around with.
